Victoria G2024-06-08Ushan - best tour guide ever! We have travelled to many countries and taken lots of private tours, and we can honestly say Ushan is the best tour guide / driver we have ever had. As a UK couple on our honeymoon, we had a very difficult start to our trip when our flight was cancelled and we had a 2 day delay. Thankfully our trip was extended and our tour rearranged so we didn't miss anything. When we finally arrived, Ushan did everything he could to make us feel comfortable and relaxed, and within a day of our tour we had forgotten all about the bad start. Not only an excellent tour guide, Ushan is also an expert on Sri Lankan wildlife, birds and tea, and taught us so many interesting things which made the car journeys very enjoyable. From our walking tour of Galle Fort to a safari in Yala, Ushan was the perfect host. Knowledgeable, professional, always on time, a very good driver and also good fun and great company. He also takes fantastic photos! We felt very safe, looked after and cared for at all times. He made great recommendations for restaurants and also imtroduced us to typical Sri Lankan foods and teas during our journeys. We feel we have a very good knowledge of so many aspects of this amazing country after our time with Ushan. Even when my husband was sick for a short time, Ushan did all he could to help make sure we could still enjoy our trip. We highly recommend Ushan and hope to meet him again one day.

Ushan @beyondintours has done just that and in just 3 days has given us the most wonderful memories of a lifetime. His knowledge of his mother country is outstanding and he is so proud to share the history, the wildlife, the trees, the birds and everything magical about Sri Lanka. If you are lucky enough to be able to travel here, we would highly recommend you get in touch with him, however large or small you needs may be, his knowledge of the bird wildlife is outstanding and can easily identify individual species by its distinctive call and this together with an in depth knowledge of where to find them on the island makes him an excellent choice for anyone interested in ornithology. He also has a wonderfully dry sense of humour and nothing is too much trouble.
Lana2024-01-11Without Ushan, our trip would be incomplete My husband and I traveled around Sri Lanka for almost 3 weeks and Ushan was with us all this time. I can say with confidence that without him, our journey would not have been so bright and colorful. A very charming guide, with an excellent sense of humor and erudition, with his help we plunged headlong into the local flavor and traditions. During the trip, on his recommendation, Ushan planned a cooking lesson for us, a safari, and we managed to see a leopard, which happens quite rarely. I should note that Ushan is also a very experienced and careful driver, which is important, especially considering the crazy traffic, without any rules. Very punctual. Several times we had to leave at 4.30-5 in the morning and Ushan was always there on time, as agreed. If you want to make your trip unforgettable, Wushan is the right choice.

Lovisa2024-01-06A lovely vacation! My family went to Sri Lanka during two weeks around new years and we booked Ushan as our guide and to help us with itinerary and logistics. I cannot recommend Ushan enough as a guide; he was always very nice and polite, helpful and eager to teach us about Sri Lanka and its people and traditions. We learnt a lot listening to him explaining both customs and wildlife on the island. He’s a big fan of birds which led to extra fun safari-tours! Ushan also helped plan and book our excursions, resulting in a vacation full of adventures and fantastic experiences. When one of our hotels cancelled our booking right before new years Ushan also helped us turn a very stressful situation around and found us another hotel which turned out to be the coziest hotel we had on the trip! This vacation would not have been the same without his help, input and insights! Me and my family are very grateful to have had Ushan’s help in getting the most out of our stay here! AlexisLumi2024-01-02Great tour guide in Sri Lanka We had a great 10 day tour with Ushan. My husband and I have a 2 year old toddler which sometimes makes travelling a bit stressful but Ushan was so good with her it was really helpful. As a guide he was really knowledgeable and would share interesting and funny facts. He was also very good at ensuring we did the activities on our itinerary at the right time to get the most out of them (eg walking on Horton Plains before it got very hot!). All the activities we did were great fun and interesting (I really enjoyed the Udawalawe national park animals/birds) but if I had to give a highlight, it was spending time with our guide Ushan because he was so entertaining and really gave us an insight into Sri Lankan life and culture. On the practical points we felt very safe with his driving (some drivers can be a bit crazy!) Also his English is fluent, he was very good at explaining our itinerary without overloading us with information and checking that we were getting what we wanted from our holiday and adjusting the itinerary where necessary to fit around us and the baby.

Richard P2023-10-29The wonders of a beautiful and mesmerizing country We covered six of the nine departments/districts of Sri Lanka from 2nd - 22nd September 2023. We could not have experienced such amazing sites, sounds and exotic smells of Sri Lanka without our trusted driver and amazingly knowledgeable guide Ushan. He provided a commentary on the different areas that we passed through, encouraging us to indulge in the local culture, stopping to taste local delights and delicacies and generally engaging with Sri Lanka. His insights meant that we could truly sit back and enjoy the beautiful and engaging country side. One of the many memorable occasions was climbing the iconic Sigirya at 4.30am so that we could enjoy the sunrise from the summit (and avoid the crowds and heat of the day). This was a very special holiday which was given greater meaning by sharing it with a fabulous Sri Lankan. Truly memorable. Thank you.

I was able to plan the whole trip with him easily by WhatsApp ahead of the trip and he was more than happy to keep amending the itinerary and provided lots of advice until we had perfected our route. He is very passionate and taught us a lot about the country, culture and wildlife. He also planned all our trips/excursions with ease and recommended lots of additional great activities/places to visit along the way (including some lovely surprises!). He is a safe driver, friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best two weeks. If you are planning a trip to Sri Lanka then I couldn't recommend Ushan more!
